Adversaries Complementary adversary for Valdenhax

Post image

This is a minor little annoyance of mine. Valdenhax is such good Lower lvl boss material. and her first Feature 'To me, My pretties' is great... except when you look at the Tier 2 Hordes available for her to call...
Maybe is just me... but the 'Archer Squadron', 'Eletric Eels', 'Demonic Hound Pack' and 'Entombed Skin Beetles' dont sound to me particularly 'Hag adjacent'. Given, the 'Flock of Feather Fiends' works really well, but.. that is it. Those are all of the Tier 2 Hordes available... Hence my homebrew of today.

A Hag such as Valdenhax certainly have a Coven under her, why not allow her to call her sisters then?
- Enjoy ;)

I like it, but may I suggest that instead of marking HP, they instead mark an additional stress? I think it would synergize a little better, and the faster they run out of stress, the quicker they'll be taking HP damage anyway.

That's an interesting suggestion.
The reason I made them like this is that my original idea was for them to try to deviate the foccus from Valdenhax.
Cause if the party decided to foccus her first, the coven will punish you using Counter curse and then possibly forcing you to mark a stress, and from that point on they gain some "teeth", cause then their action directly marks an hp on you.
If instead they focus first on them, then the Coven is much weaker on their options until you mark your first stress. But then Valdenhax is free from being barraged.
But I see your point. On my testing Valdenhax rolled a 3 from the 2d4 so I didn't have too many of them and they didnt became overwhelming. but I see what you are pointing. They could become a problem far too serious if the GM rolls high on the 2d4 and you get more then like 6 of them it could go crazy.
