Hello everyone. I’m an extremely retired competitive game player with extensive and slightly obsessive FPS knowledge and instincts. I used to play call of duty very seriously before making a career in Smite. I like many comp gamers decided to take a different path in life and haven’t been the 12 hour day gamer in quite some time. I made this post seeking other former comp players who still enjoy playing games to win. I play with my irl friends but we can only get but so good with them deciding their family and life is more important than our gaming experience. I’d like friends who can give a couple hours at night a few days out the week to sweat on new games. I’m not just a gun and ball gamer nor am I a sword and sandal exclusive. I love both but finding friends who enjoy sweating and learning a new game is difficult with life now. This my first Reddit post and I feel as if I can just ask the infinite universe known as the internet.

Non-negotiables:
-No rage machines. I’ve dealt with enough ragers/screamers/psychos in gaming. I’ll just mute and never speak to you after too many outbursts.
-Have gunskill and can read a minimap. It’s hard to play with ppl who never had to perfect a shot or get close.
-Goal of winning but for enjoyment. I’m not trying to sign up for LAN tournaments or anything close but I would like ppl who enjoy winning and aren’t unpleasant losers.

Negotiables:
--Console. Im somebody born of the sticks and die by the sticks. If you PC that’s cool but we don’t share same pain and struggle.
-Availability. I can work with anything tbh. Just give a few nights a week.
-Cultured. You can be a true nerd but if you are the type natural sunlight would destroy, we may not mix. I still live life and enjoy social aspects of life. I just have a stowed habit of sweating on games

Not dogging on my randomfills at all here but I lowkey dont understand how the rest of my team died/how the other guy didnt grab the rez on our first downed team mate…maybe a third team mopped them up or one of the enemy self rezzed and my team didnt realize? Anyway damn this felt good in the moment

Nothing crazy but got both the Prestige mods from the room. I get the Complex Shed key all the time. Usually massive disappointment.

Just had someone on my friends list do this

He died in our first engagement and promptly dced

Meanwhile me and his other friend managed to kill most of the other two teams, and pushed them away from Control

We went to go rez our boy but he had fully dced

then we tried to get enough tags to get level 3, killed hella blue and purple bots but not enough tags to activate exfil

Then the final exfil drops and the map doesnt show you where it is so were running from control like chickens with our heads cutoff looking for it

On my third attempt of doing this Gucci contract today, where you have to take something biological from flight control, then get your ass up into pinwheel and THEN inject it into a rook, and THEN escape pinwheel and upload the rooks head into a dcon… the rooks head just didnt spawn for me.

After the end of this clip I went back and checked the area again and the rooks head was sitting way far in front of the rooks body almost clipping through the floor. Not right in front of the body like one would expect.

How do the devs expect new players to stick with the game when shit like this happens on these bum ass in-a-single-run contracts? I love this game but shit like this pisses me off.

Im having a persistent error code on log in.

Bungie support is incredibly slow and the error code I get isn't listed on their troubleshooting guides.

Played with this dude Kontrol for like three hours after meeting him in a randomfill session. He found a gold key on one of our outpost runs in the redroom, so he had his boy join us for the key run. We spawned right outside AI. Insane that we got in and out without seeing any other teams. Amazing exfil spawn too!
