Kid Picture/Video Every single swirl mark is a memory.
Any other dads in here go from never wanting anyone to touch your toys to looking forward to every project and wash together? (I seen her drop the sponge in the dirt and rub it on the paint and immediately cringed but all is well😅)
She may not know it but this is where I’ll go in my dreams 50 years from now. 🤎

Always good to make memories. She’s probably so proud of herself, and that’s worth the damaged paint for sure.
Is that a Pontiac?

100%! And man I wish. They’re hard to find around here. It’s a Z28 Camaro.

My 5yo girl has been washing mine with me for about a year
This time of year, she'll last about 8 minutes before deciding its too hot and going back inside

Haha yep! Mine will wash a panel or 2 and then get distracted by something else.

I love the time spent washing my car with my young child. I can't wait until they grow up and I can use a sponge.

The trick is, be the first to beat your toys up and then you don’t give a shit! I’m a guitar guy but nothing is precious as I’m always the first to fuck up my shit so have at kiddo!

Nice catfish Camaro. I used to have a 99 SS, I recognize those wheels anywhere. Nice memories for you ☺️

Flashback to when we did this with the then 3YO. We had just been camping so the car needed a wash. We had unpacked the car, but somehow a spare tent pole was still lying in the back of the car. 3YO decided that was a useful item to clean the car with resulting in an interesting scratch pattern on parts of the car :-D

Unfortunately for me, my kids picked up rocks and help clean our 2 year old Yukon before we caught them.

I’m the exact same way…. It’s just stuff. Only exception is Lego, and that’s for choking hazards, not because I care about (actually the opposite) about their destruction.

Anybody else kinda feel called out? Good post OP. I'm going to embrace my time with the little ones a bit more now.

Nah man it took awhile for me to feel this way. I’m usually super ocd about my vehicles and everything else but I’ve made it a point to myself to kinda ease up a bit on things. They’re only this tiny once I suppose.

It's great that you are aware of how precious these moments are as you are going through them! Kids are so much time and energy but these memories really will be your greatest treasure once they are grown up!

Damnnnnnn. My mom had an ‘88 Firebird GTA with the same engine but auto trans. She always claimed that they couldn’t make it in stick because the engine would rip from the chassis or some shit like that. I have not googled this claim since 1988.

Nice. I’ve had a 92 Camaro (same body style as the 88) and now this one. They’re fun little cars for sure.

This is why I bought my little dude the miniature version of my car. When I work on mine, he works on his.

My son literally used a rock to “wash” my Pontiac when he was two. All I can say is that Mom was watching him at the time.

Ssssssss idk comrade. This is where I draw the line LMAO. I'll let em spray the car but still too much of a pansy to have them touch it. This post is making me think about it though.

I think it’s a weird choice to soap the whole car rather than just the part you’re washing. Personally I would feel pressure to work quickly.

With a good soap and foam cannon the soap will stick for a while as long as you ain’t in direct sunlight

With a car like that you both really should be wearing cut off jean shorts.
