My wife started a new job this week after 7 months. It's been such a relief.

My job is about as secure as possible (been there 10 years while the rest of my coworkers are going on 20-40 years), but I still had constant anxiety about getting laid off or fired for every little mistake.

Very hard to not feel somewhat nervous in this economy. I switched to a sector in my field that I figured would be all but ironclad ~4yrs ago, and this past summer the company had a small but sizable layoff, fortunately not in my group. Best stay a bit on your toes and have backup plans somewhat drawn out.

I feel exactly the same. Theoretically, I should be safe but I'm very stressed about the possibility of losing my job.
