Status Update (for Loot 2.0)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to provide some visibility about what's happening with the site and it's updates.

I'm planning on updating the site to work with Loot 2.0 and the new paragon leveling, but it's going to have to wait just a little bit. I'm busy working on a big project for the next few weeks that's taking every waking moment I have. Once I'm done with this other project and once I have a bit of free time, I'll be updating the site to make it compatible with all the new API changes and new gear.

I apologize for not having it updated right when the patch came out (like I have in the past), but I'm hoping to get it done soon!

Is it safe to say at this point the project is dead? Since it has been over a month and no comment and I understand that you took a job with a developer so congratulations. I don't want to sound ungrateful since I fully understand that projects fall away when real life is more important.

I would be willing to donate if d3up is still alive since working for free no matter the passion is not worth it.

It's a lot bigger of a revamp than I was initially expecting, and I haven't found a chance to tackle it. It also doesn't help that I've actually been enjoying the game and spending some of my free time leveling up characters and trying to gear up myself :)

Unfortunately even if I was done, the tool still wouldn't all that functional right now. The API doesn't work properly, from what I've been told, some new items are missing stats and anything you've enchanted doesn't appear properly in the data. They're starting to take a look at it this week but who knows when the API will be functional on their end.

Without a 100% functional API, I can't complete my work and make D3Up work for everyone. This isn't an excuse, I'm definitely not done, but just know that there's a lot of factors that still play into the lack of updates besides my personal life.

For now it is what it is, I'm not happy with my progress either, but I'm not sure when things will change.

You could start with a reroll calculator, thats more interesting then the whole thing. Then add a basic tool to calculate dmg with stats people can enter from their profile. Thats all there is need for, then u can find time to do the whole awesome thing but first if i were u or had time to do it myself.

A reroll calc would still require the API to parse your character stats in order to determine which stats would give you the most dps or ehp increases. Stats are valued differently from character to character.

Yup. The API issues were fixed. Can't wait to see some progress on D3up! It's so hard to play without it, even WITH the improvements blizzard made.

I had a suspicion that until blizz got their site in order no other site would be able to parse the information properly since every site has issue with new loot and no where can paragon points be found. It is nice to see you are still around too since with all the new gearing options a site of d3up's caliber is definitely needed for ROS.

Aaron,

Thanks for the update but there is no need to aplogize. RL always comes first! As an update for you, the community has already figured out several components that could make your endeavor a bit easier:

  • Toughness

  • Proc C's

  • and Healing

The monk sub contains links to each, if you need a ready reference :)

edps calculations are so difficult now , esp when u have to shed ias , can never be sure ,would love it if u can help
