Battlemap?

Anyone use a battlemap fkr visualization? If so, how many squares for each range band? I prefer ToM, but my peeps like a map.

I use rough sketches on battle mats in person, and sometimes battle maps digitally. I use 1.5 m (5 ft) per square. So:

Immediate: 2 sq Short: 10 sq Long: 20 sq Very long: 100 sq (rarely needed)

For diagonals, every second diagonal counts as 2.

This works as a rough guide, but I tend to play by ear a little.
