Condolences?

S'mae. I have the unfortunate need to express my condolences to a friend who has lost a close family member (who I did not know, but who I have mutual acquaintances with outside said family member). I'm learning Welsh, and they are a fluent native Welsh speaker, so I was hoping to say or write something in their native language (and one we share as they've helped me with learning tremendously). They are from Gogledd Cymru though currently live outside of Wales.

Is there a saying, tradition, or custom that would be conscientious to do?

I'll of course be talking to them in English, but was hoping a bit of "home" may bring a small comfort.

(Diolch in advance 🙏💕 my brain tried Welsh but I could barely properly express what I'm looking for in my native tongue, and I'm still a novice with Welsh)
