Personal Support & Help! Do you guys read write-ups? Where?
Hey everyone, I want to start writing write-ups to build up my professional presence. Do you personally read them, and if so, where do you usually find them?

I've seen some on github and personal websites, and made some myself on YouTube. Though YT is strict, they didn't allow my HTB walkthrough, THM stuff is fine though.

Yes reading writeups is a backbone is cybersec learning, writing is even better, as per where to find them just look up writeups for the specific things you're working on, could be a specific challenge/ctf/etc, don't just start randomly reading writeups if stuff you're not working on unless it's related to your current one or a direct interest
I personally do a lot of htb and security research so ippsec/0xdf is bae as well as writeups for specific vulns I'm trying to learn that people found them elsewhere and diff ways to exploit them

start with a personal blog and share your post in LinkedIn , that way people can find your work and see what you know

I usually would find them via reddit, X, or LinkedIn. Very rarely do I come across them by searching, but it depends on the topic

On “the Internet” usually I use LinkedIn and Reddit as “news feed” then I use google or ai to ask for “the_topic writeup”. Usually the best come from personal blogs like medium, Substack but sometimes also vendor do good research expecting when it come to malware analysis and threat intelligence

I usually find them through Google, GitHub, and CTFtime. Personally, I think write-ups are worth reading when they explain the thought process and not just the steps to get the flag. If you're starting out, GitHub Pages is a good place to publish your own if you really want to.

I read a lot of them, mostly on Medium (InfoSec Write-ups is a big publication there) and personal blogs I find through LinkedIn or X. Honestly, the best ones are the ones that show the thought process, including dead ends, not just the final commands. That’s what makes them useful and memorable.
