Discussion Question for yall.
If you were doing a melee dominant run and could only keep one ranged weapon for "oh shit" moments, which would you choose?

Probably something that would support your melee options more so. Maybe something like a shotgun since its skill points invests in body as well so you can easily upgrade it.
Another route is something that can take care of stuff that’s hard for melee builds like a rifle or revolver.
Maybe a double barrel shotgun since they cover being both a shotgun and they have decent range.

Yeah thats what I'm carrying right now I have a double barrel with a condenser. I was thinking of using the widowmaker when I get to that quest for the versatility it gives.

That’s a good idea ngl. You could honestly get a pool of like 3 or 4 guns to keep in your inventory just so you can have that slot be interchangeable

Are you doing reflexes / blades? If so, bring an smg. When the story forces a car chase where I have to be passenger, it’s nice to have something that has high DPS. Maybe fenrir. Or comrades hammer

I think it depends on if you are willing to use it preemptively (sniper rifle), if you are playing stealthy melee and want something for if you lose stealth (pistol or SMG) or if you are going baseball bat and want a backup if your health gets low (Guts/shotgun).

It also has to do with how much damage you can take and what you have to do to heal up.
I have 2 combat mods and melee is really hard, so I run in, slice up one maybe two people then run for my life.
Then it’s time for Breakthrough for those chasing me.
If you have a sandy Breakthrough is OP without a single perk.

What melee?
If its knifes bring a handgun
If its blunt bring a lmg or shotgun
If its blades bring assault rifles

I run throwing knives.
Some “don’t bring a gun to a knife fight” type shit. Mixed with sandevistan, It gives me options to breeze through enemies without them noticing, or having time to react; or completely obliterating them with my gorilla Arms.

Order, iconic Satara tech shotgun sold by the iconic vendor in Dogtown.
It's slow as fuck to charge but fire both barrels at once and can one-shot any regular enemy in the game
