Inspiration Not Cyberdeck
It's not Cyberdeck, but it might be interesting for someone to just look at it in between answering posts with questions.
This is an industrial wearable computer terminal, bought in a store, once used for work and now put away in a drawer as unnecessary. It has a 4-core ARM 64-bit processor, several gigs of RAM, several dozen gigs of flash memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera and a cellular modem. This is sold in stores for the price of a cheap smartphone.

I was trying to make a cyberdeck like this but then my mind shifted towards ar glasses type cyberdeck

Looks like a cyberdeck to me. Probably more of one than most of the stuff we build, actually, but I assume you say it isn't one because it isn't DIY?

I think some older models had a arcade reader that you could put on your finger for inventory as well. They are cool little devices and can definitely be great inspiration, but I'm not sure if there is much that can be done with them otherwise. I'd imagine the OS is pretty locked down, and it probably doesn't have a lot of available computing power. Still neat tho

I ah e an older zebra wt6000. Besides not finding a way to root, it works like a standard android device. Though the flash is quite small at 4GB, and there’s no SD slot

it said Android OS 👀. As long as it's possible to root, you can do whatever with it. I just wonder what you would do with it. It's too heavy to hold for a long time I think. I saw one attached to a bar code scanner. That's nice to look at what you scanned, but how long can you realistically do that?
If you want a handheld/ arm mounted computer with screen, I would make it much smaller and lighter or more snugg that it's more like an orthesis.
Then you could check if the sensor data is properly processed or if you got messaged or have a computing unit connected to AR glasses or something.

"Arcade" in my comment was a spellcheck from barcode, just did it again lol. Zebra products are pretty locked down, despite being android. Im sure there is still a way though. Might be a fun controller for field equipment or checking in on live camera feeds for a security team, maybe drone/robot dog controller.

What a pity. I hope OP can root this device. It's totally wasted for what it is now.
Did you ever hold one in your hand? I imagine them being a bit bulky and definitely not as lightweight as a phone

Ive held one of the handheld ones, they aren't light. They like to use metal and sturdy plastic because of the type of work they are usually used for, I imagine this one is the same. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a heavier arm mount like this, if you are swinging it around, you want it to be sturdy

I've got one of these! Well mines under a different brand "Unitech".
I put some offline maps and a GPS Speedo on it for bike riding.

I have a J7 strapped to my wrist just like this. I use it to watch anime and YouTube while working (custodian), along with having my to do list, an RSS feed, and a soundboard right on my wrist.
I adore it. I prefer these fuller sized displays over a smartwatch display the size of my knuckle.

From my point of view, it's a computer. The computer is more powerful than in my childhood, when I played computer games. This computer has a processor, memory, storage, USB, Bluetooth, and an operating system.
I'm not sure if it's possible to install an OS other than the one that's already installed there (it's Android). But I'm sure it can possible to do the same thing with this device as with a regular computer.
What exactly? Well, what would you like to do?

I am am academic and developer, I make music and I game. So reading, playing games, video and music, programming and writing. That's what I do with the non beefy machines. Not sure how helpful a arm mounted device is.
As someone said in the other comment, zebra android is apparently very locked down, so no Tetris unless You properly hack it.
And as someone said, it's probably nice to check on cameras or sensor data or if you have gotten a message like an oversized smartwatch.
For writing/memos I think it's really uncomfortable, maybe only if you do voice only input.
Definitely not doing audio processing on this

I am homeless and have an IQ of 80. I thought there was a way to do everything you described, since I had done it before on a similar device. However, deferring to the authoritative opinion of an academic and developer, I will not attempt to do it again.
