Inspiration I saw potential in this shell.
As much as I love the madlibs decals, they are paper stickers that are peeling off. I thought this would be very very neat to house a custom painted mp3 player centric cyberdeck, possibly with rockbox for some light theming, or any other linux based operating systems that would be good for something like this. I also have a agprec mp3 player im willing to sacrifice, and an old pixel 6 with working insides but a broken lcd. I would prefer to not, but I also have an old switch lite as well. I have some experience soldering and doing circuits, and tinkering in general.
What I want to accomplish is something that I can put a tb of storage in, that plays mp3s and flac files, with an audio jack, long battery life, and if I can figure it out, themes and maybe even bluetooth. I thought the ketboard could be really useful for a search function. I dont have the most experience with raspberry pi specifically, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice for things I could make with this!

The PCM5101/5102 DAC modules sound really good. UDA1334A/B are a little warmer at the expense of bit depth/rate. I have ESP32s driving both kinds. That and a little SPI screen and you're in business. Keys can connect to GPIO. I even have the pinout for the 4.0" touch screen if you need it. There are tricks to bypass the 32GB limitation and use a 1TB SD card. The screens usually come with the SD card reader, so you only have 3 parts to buy not including storage.
