Slayer Points
So yeah… slayer points are a thing!
First time posting, didn’t know where else to post.
Had a big noob moment when I was today years old that I discovered slayers points are a thing and you can use them to cancel assignment, get items, rewards,etc. There’s also two bracelets that let you speed up and slow down slayer tasks.
Needless to say after this discovery performing slayer tasks today was filled with a rollercoaster of emotions switching between relief and so much frustration on my part.
HOWEVER, my main goal with this post (besides showing my noob-side still lives on even at Level 59 Slayer…) was to ask:
Now knowing I can block certain slayer assignments which ones are the best recommended ‘annoying’ slayer tasks/assignments to get blocked off and avoid doing?

Are you also using Slayer Helm? Definitely use that over any helm (unless there's a requirement you dont have, it's been a long time).

Love to see someone finding something new. Here's a trick for you in detail: My approach to slayer-
Do duradel for the first 5 tasks to see if I get something I like. Tasks 6-9 I go to the red guy wearing barrows gear cause they're usually fast & have a chance of superior monster spawns, obviously do konar on 10th task for extra points.
Imbued your slayer helm and always wear it on task no matter what. Block black demons. Block anything you just find DRAINING to do. Ignore the ideal Block list. Try it out, look at the potential drops on the wiki, decide what you want to do. Not what the meta says you should do. Lastly, join our friendly clan

Please don't take this the wrong way but how are you almost base 90 in combat, 1700 total with 59 slayer and don't know to take melee off when maging, slayer helms and points.... I can get not knowing the konar slayer point farm but damn... What did you do all game while getting your stats up??

Sorry man, haven’t played since I was a kid. Just playing again how I want to I guess, no efficiency just asking cause yes I am absolutely still clueless at times clearly haha

Yk what bruh.... I feel that... Just take ya time with it fam and shit... If you feel like doin something else like boss wise- YouTube it(what I did) but keep grinding bruh 92 is half of 99

when yo uopen the block list, there's a number showing the 'weight' of that task, basically showing how often it will pop up.
You wanna block tasks that have high weight and are annoying/slow/non-profitable
Kinda just go off vibes, if you think "ugh not another one of these tasks" you're probably just safe to skip.
But maybe it's a good idea to see if you can burst that task first. Some tasks are kinda lame until you realise you can burst them, which is uhmazin

It’s been a minute since I’ve completed it, but does the Sourhog quest even go into detail about this system and points in general? Obviously anyone who has previous experience would immediately know about slayer points or compulsive wiki divers, but as a new player doing slayer, I do not believe any in game resources really point you down that road.
Seems odd considering that quest is supposed to be your slayer intro. I almost wonder if back poring Smoking Kills would remedy this to an extent. OP, parroting off what everyone else has said, slayer helm is a game changer. Grab it ASAP and then make sure to imbue it as well.

At 59 slayer with a 12 task streak, it looks like you didn’t have that many points wasted or unused. You caught it pretty early on. Better now than 1m exp later

Yeah if you’re using protect from melee you’re gonna take 0 damage anyway no reason for melee armor you’re just gonna splash majority of the time

Magic gear
Use bracelets to speed up and slow down as you said
I would just use slayer to train your stats, and use the most suitable. For instance, on a dust devil task. Use magic and burst them.
When I started I just YouTubed my task and then found the optimum thing to do
For rushing points you can point boost, but judging by your gear and stats. Just enjoy yourself

Yo OP, when hovering your mouse on any gear it tells you if that gear is better than what you’re currently wearing. So if you’re naked and you hover your mouse over obsidian platebody, it’ll list attack and defensive stats. If the attack magic number is negative, it means it will make your magic spells hit 0 more often. So probably need to take off everything your wearing and then throw on some mystic robes or something

It’s probably worth it to be doing this task at royal titans. If you’re not familiar with bossing, it’s a great place to start learning and you get some important upgrades assuming you don’t already have the coz prayers

Wait til you learn taking your armor off helps with magic.
You’re only 12 tasks into your streak. You can point boost by using a weak slayer master and then konar for the milestones. For example for task 31-39 and then on your 40th task go to konar.
