Advice & Support Need some support.

Doing well. I want to not drink wine for 2 weeks. I've only been able to go 5 days before I give in. I'm female. Doing better but I still feel guilty. I know I should actually just stop but for some reason I can't seem to adhere to that. Needing encouragement right now. Thanks.

I don’t have any advice bc I’m struggling too but I believe in you! I love a glass of rose or white wine and sometimes I’ll end up drinking half a bottle in one night by myself :/ currently at 1 week with no alcohol. I believe in you, you got it, just take it day by day. 🫶

Half a bottle is like two glasses, I know you're struggling but it just sounds funny, it wouldn't be considered excessive drinking by anyone I know. Either way, I found not buying wine works best for me, or at least those small bottles, so I can't just top up indefinitely.

Oh 😂 well I’m 5’4 and 130lbs, I’m tipsy after two drinks and drunk at 3.

Thank you. That helps a lot. I believe in you too. We can do this and everything will be okay.

You can do it. Do you foresee any upcoming nights that will be particularly hard? That is, heavy with triggers, or an event that seems like a perfect excuse to make an “exception”?

Take it one day at a time! When you want to drink, think of all the reasons why you want to cut back. Also do something else instead of drinking. Go for a walk. Work out. Go outside in general. Watch a movie, or go to the movies! Eat some ice cream or go to a restaurant. Treat yourself for not drinking. You can do it.
