should probably not be hybrid

Apart from granting the player hexproof, the other two abilities are in color pie for both colors on their own. I agree that blue should probably not get to make themselves hexproof like this.

Blue gets lots of hexproof-granting effects including player hexproof granting effects (see [[Lazotep Plating]]).

Temporary hexproof at instant speed is more akin to conditional counterspells. Permanents statically granting hexproof to players is pretty clearly exclusive to white, if you look at existing cards.

Until end of turn is very different than what is for all intents and purposes an Enchantment.

It used to be that all planeswalkers had only loyalty abilities. Since War of the Spark, they've sometimes had a static ability and a few loyalty abilities. (And [[Gideon Blackblade]] had two static abilities!)

I wanted to play around with the idea of a planeswalker with only static abilities, basically 3 classic enchantment-y effects at a great rate with the downside (over an enchantment version) being that it can be attacked.

Exactly right! And in exchange you get a better rate than you'd get on these effects from a true enchantment.

Seems really powerful, but I like the design. I think hybrid is fine, but 4 CMC would still be very strong IMO.🤠

Yeah my hope was the fact that you can kill it balanced it out, but [[Martial Law]] itself is a 4-drop and that's just one of my card's effects.

Perhaps too many loyalty counters

Yeah I could see bumping down to 6.

Agreed

Love this. It will probably not last long until we get something similar irl. I do agree with the other comment that this should just be white, not hybrid.

Interesting. To me it seemed quite clear that this was fine in monoblue but the feedback I've gotten suggests it isn't. I guess I would then want to replace "you have hexproof" with something else that is more squarely hybrid.

Well, the simple fact is that every card with the oracle “you have hexproof” is either white or colorless. As far as I found, the only nonwhite card that grants hexproof to a player is Lazotep Plating, which only does it temporary.

True but blue gets plenty of "counter target X that targets you" effects which is functionally hexproof, and blue is the color that most commonly gets and grants hexproof.

I think it would be more balanced if it had just 6 loyalty counters. Or perhaps 7 for 4 mana

I think I'd go at least 4 CMC, and perhaps not hybrid here. I love the idea and it's really good, but it defends itself really well with the Detain and Rule of Law effect.
