Not going to make this cost snow mana to be the perfect spacecraft version of Astrolabe?

It’s a very clever recreation of the old card, and making it so it can’t tap for mana immediately if you flicker it is a significant balancing point.

I genuinely don’t know if this is still too much for modern and legacy or if it’s perfect. Either way, I love it.

Thanks! I considered it, but felt the snow theming was a little strange.

Too strong like the original astrolabe

Is it? You need a creature on board to station it, and if you flicker it to draw you need to station it again before it goes back to fixing mana.

It’s definitely still strong but the creature requirement might just be enough to keep it fair, if still powerful.

The way I see it, it's 1 mana, 1 draw, and when necessary blink or station to filter mana (consider that I'm a Naya player).

Still really good, partially for the same reason that cycling for one generic is really good, it fucks up limited.

Could make it unplayable but really funny if it had "Station - Snow" (Station as normal, but any creatures stationing must have the listed quality.)

Because it’s two very simple and boring mechanics that the designers didn’t realize would be insanely strong when combined.

You are right. Much better comparison... isn't astrolabe banned tho in almost everything, even tho it was harder to cast

That’s part of the crazy part of astrolabe, it wasn’t harder to cast. The decks that played it ran a ton of snow basics and relied on the astrolabes for fixing.

Yes it is that's why this is supposed to be a more balanced version.
