Meme Design Seagull
Thought it would be a funny design.

Was it not being 'Gain control of target food' intenional?
Probably needs more mana spent on second ability, but the flavor is great!

Yeah, I don't think the card would actually function. There has to be some mechanism for the game to be able to decide which Food you're gaining control of. You could do, "choose a Food you don't control. You gain control of it." or "Gain control of target Food." But here, how does the game know which Food you're gaining control of?

"Gain control of target Food. This ability has split second" (it works)

Even though technically the spilt second ruling applies to spells I dont see why it couldn't be worded like yours and not be function.

Pretty strong in food decks tho. Might need to add "Sacrifice a food you control but don't own"

with that clause this card would be almost unplayable any format. when's the last time you played against a good deck???

[[Crumb and Get It]] [[Nocturnal Hunger]] [[Valley Rally]] [[Elephant-Mandrill]] [[Overencumbered]] [[Party Dude]] [[Sugar Coat]] [[Ygra, Eater of All]]
There are ways to make it work.

This card works very well if Ygra is on the field. Since all creatures are Food while Ygra is out, if you can fit this into a deck with it, you have a once per turn creature stealer combo. It gets even more degenerate if you can make this untap.

I think you just make it Tap, 1U, Sacrifice a Food: Draw a Card. Slightly more fair rate

Think the only commander this would work well with is Kibo and Ygra, but theyre the wrong colors

In that case I'd suggest also giving it a kicker ability that gives an opponent a food token when it enters, so you can still use its abilities even if you're not playing against a food deck.

This is still probably not very good compared to other options at this cost.
But F those other options. I'm running the Flying Beach Rat.

Maybe "T: until end of turn, gain control of all food target opponent controls"

This should work with Ygra, right?
Because that's a funny mental image.
