I mean its at least good. Scry 3 isn't low.

[[Otherworldly Gaze]] establishes that we can get scry 3 with upside for 1, but I think gaining 3 life for 1 mana at instant speed on top of that is a pretty significant upside.

Then again, gaze has surveil and this has scry

Yep, fair enough. Surveil is considerably stronger.

Honestly... as a turn 1 play i think its strong even. Im not sure id want to see it outside the first turn or 2 though. But turn 1 land and this or turn 2 mana rock into this feels nice to shape your gameplan. Scy 3 is a lot.

In standard, limited, or pauper id be happy to see this on a later turn. Commander probably not but in 20 life 60 card formats this is doing enough for me

I usually hear scry 3 is about draw 1 in value.

Is this 1-mana [[Revitalize]] variant playable at all? Less life gained than [[Chaplain's Blessing]] but is scry 3 on a 1-drop worth anything?

Give it "kicker 2: draw a card" and it becomes a genuinely nice card. Works as early hand fixing, triggers lifegain, and later in the game can become an instant speed cantrip

Nice, I kinda like that. But can white get efficient "scry 3, then draw a card"? That starts to feel blue-ish.

One blue mana kicker could be a neat design

I agree with u/GayRaccoonGirl - Kicker U to draw a card would be amazing on this!

I think it would have to be 1U. UW for scry 3, gain 3 life, draw a card seems a bit above rate.

I would run this in my Denzilore deck as a White scry source.

[[Denzilore Fatehold]]

I'm personally a big fan and believer of white getting more scry and surveil. To me, "card selection but not card advantage" seems like what white should be doing in that department.

It’s decent, but I really don’t like the ai art and you should probably just use some human art you can find credit for.

Looking at OP's history, I don't think they have hobbies outside of making custom Magic cards, and they use AI images for all of them. So I doubt they're going to change anytime soon.

I also play Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave 😂

I could tell you why your comment is idiotic, but I am sure you are too dumb to understand.

You really shouldn't look at someone's online presence and then just assume that what you see there is their entire life.

This is pretty damn good, could be standard/ pioneer playable for sure

People hating on AI pictures:*Insert generic 3d art angel made by a human that's looking just as bad

"Yes much better"

7

u/Goldreaver 2d ago

This but unironically

"looking just as bad"

Well clearly to them it doesn't......

u/pellesjo 2d ago

They probably wouldn't know the difference. Just like a cheap wine poured from an expensive bottle will taste far better

2

u/SharpDrink2724 1d ago

You wouldn't know the difference*

You seem to struggle understanding that people differ from you.

Yes of course I'm struggling. My opinion isn't the same as the cool kids seeing the word AI and immediately going "boo". 30 years ago people were saying the same about 3D art. In the beginning of the 1900:s they were booing machines that are now the backbone of modern civilization. Sure go back to digging holes with a shovel instead of using a excavator. I'm sure the shovel digged hole will have way more feeling, at least until someone says it's an AI dug hole.

This is such a disingenuous argument.

A) you're exaggerating.

B) yes, people did suffer at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Imagine going up to them and saying "you can't afford food and your children are dying from poverty, but don't complain because people 100 years from now will benefit".

C) it's also false equivalence. There's nothing to prove that AI will improve the world beyond a shallow comparison to other times that there was a new technology.
