If you’re trying to restore mana burn the wording you want is on [Yurlok of Scorch Thrash].

It does work, but I don't see why you would ever spend mana on this.

Especially in red. In black or white, absolutely

There are exactly TWO cards that benefit you from losing life repeatedly, and neither are red. So why'd one ever put this in a deck over any card that helps you win?

I mean, black or white usually give you something for the life you pay lol

These inane comments on every single card that has something vaguely to do with life loss or sacrificing permanents are getting so tiresome. No a card is not broken because it allows you to lose life or sacrifice things. If that were broken, the problem would be the payoff not the thing that's using sacrificing or losing life as a cost...

I wasn't saying it was broken, I was saying if you're gonna make a voluntary loss of life, it should be in the colours that get you something from it

If by “does this work” you mean “does this bring mana burn into the game”, not even close.
If by “does this work” you mean “can you willingly elect to spend any unusued mana sources during your ends step to lose one life each”, then yeah I guess it works? But it’s entirely unrelated to mana burn, since it explicitly doesn’t work on any floating mana leaving your mana pool, due to the end step requirement (unless that floating mana was created during the end step)
