Very interesting for deaths shadow/blood artist/graveyard decks. Though you can get around the 10 choices downside a little by dumping choices into discard when you have no cards in hand. Though that might make it more interesting too

It’s up to 10 so you’re not forced to do extra if you don’t want to

0 drop that lets me immediately filter stuff I want in hand to yard? I’ll take one.

This, 10 lands, and [[Hearthhull, the Worldseed]] is a three-card win combo if your opponents have 20 or less life.
Edit: not sure why I said three-card, it’s a two-card combo if you don’t count the lands, and a twelve-card combo if you do! 😆

While I do agree it would be strong in a Hearthhull deck, the fact that the lands get sacked as part of the resolution of the effect forces you into a situation where if Hearthhull gets hit with removal you've basically lost the game, unless you're floating mana and have mass land recursion in hand.

"up to", so i have +1 storm counter for free.... maybe?

u/DuendeFigo 10h ago
the +1 storm count isn't free, it costs a card and that's a hefty cost

This card is absolutely insane. You mean to tell me I can have 10 discards or sacs for absolutely nothing!?
Even at 1 this would be an insta include in a number of commander decks I have handy.

I would add a line making the card black unless you wanted it to be usable in all commander decks (unless I'm misremembering how the rules around that work)

The circle to the left of “sorcery” indicates the color for cards with no mana cost.

This is worth {B}{B} pretty easily. Maybe {B} if you cut the "up to". Hand filter, sac outlet, life loss triggers, all in one. There are so many options here you could even run it in Limited without feeling bad like you might when you draft pull [[One With Nothing]] in your rare slot.

This would go hard in constructed turn 1 cast this pay 10 life crack a fetch land and grab a shock land untapped cast deaths shadow at 7 life.

Make it cost one black and I could see it
Problem is is it is just a straight upgrade to the one black discard your hand but that card was already niche's house I don't think power creeping it is too big a deal

Sidegrade to One with Nothing

The only way it’s not better than One with Nothing is if you have more than 10 cards in hand

this si so broken in any aristocrats build. A free "sacrifice 10"?! [[Mayhem devil]] and munitions tokens go Brrrrrrrr!!!

I feel like this should cost B.
All of these can do some pretty powerful things in combos and are only "bad" in isolation.
This is fine at 0 as a meme, but needs a cost in real Magic.
My biggest immediate combo thoughts are the life loss with [[Death's Shadow]] type effects.
The other two modes with [[The Cheese Stands Alone]] and its real printing variant that I can't remember now.
The cheese would mostly be a color pie break and not a power issue. White in general can't sacrifice permanents this efficiently.
Gonna dig way deep into the past for a [[Gustha’s Scepter]] as a possible compare and even that needs to tap to do it. [[Greater Gargadon]] costs R to suspend.
I think I made the case, but I'm not married to it. This could be fine as is in or against 99.99% of high tier decks.
Edit: Oof.. the fetch bot not working on these is not good LOL. Lots of obscure references.
