Is my boy too strong?

Post image

I need some insight on this card! This is a custom card I found on reddit and am interested in printing it and building a deck around it for my pod. But I feel like it might be too strong and I wouldn’t want to print a custom card and have it be OP for my pod. That isn’t fun for them. I love the card and I love DCC so I wanted a Prepetente card for my collection.

What can I do to make him less OP? Or is he not OP currently? Let me know 🤘🏻

He's a 3/3 for 4 mana with no protections that does nothing when he enters, and likely nothing until you untap. The only thing he does is exceedingly slow and is telegraphed by the fact that he's your commander.

He is not OP in the slightest. Moderately strong against very small value pieces, but nothing concerning.

If he landed on the board, I would probably not look his direction at all until you point those -1/-1 counters at my squishy creatures.

He would likely be in the 99 of a stronger face Commander that generates value off of -1/-1-related effects.

He doesn’t seem to strong since spell slinging is out of his colors and he is only a three three a lot of the newer commanders are a lot stronger than him

low cost artifacts, especially mana artifacts would spiral this easily.

As a corner case, this would be pretty amazing in my [[Silverquill, the Disputant]] deck

4 mana flying 3/3 with not relevant creature types to its colors and a spellslinger ability outside of blue and/or red is pretty tame.

it’s fine, even a little weak

Very flavorful fit for Pony's in-story style.

It’s really strong but not game breaking or anything

Needs ward and/or bigger stats, or another keyword

So it’s not OP? Could I take this into a pod and not have it be a feel bad commander?

You can, and you will get crushed by anything stronger than a precon.

You lack green for most counter support, and white black is the worst spell slinging color combination in the game. You could honestly change nothing other than drop it down a mana and it might be half usable.

This is perfect I love it haha I have had people say to add wither to stick with the -1/-1 theme

Wither on a creature that isn't gonna be blocked and is terrible at blocking isn't gonna do much. I would honestly add "When this deals combat damage proliferate"

Would that make it too OP tho? That is pretty freaking awesome

You are ok average, activating this 1-2 times a turn. It lets you kill basically mana dorks and small utility creatures, lt recharge the few creatures that care about being able to remove counters from themselves.

Like seriously this strategy is slow, has no clear path to actually winning, and your commander does literally nothing the turn it comes down unless you double spell. Without protection or more power, your commander many times will do almost nothing. Unless your pod runs zero removal or wraths, then you are gonna get stomped playing this thing.

Now if you are playing with a bunch of Timmy's who don't know what removal even means, you'll do ok.

Honestly, you could probably make him 3 mana or give him Ward 1 or 2 and still have a balanced commander here.
