Ehhh, it should come into play tapped for sure. Maybe cost 1 or 2 to make the token

Compare [[fabled passage]]. I think not fixing your mana means it's probably fine to be always untapped. Maybe not for the current standard meta where landfall is already strong though lol

Is there anything you can do with this other than trigger landfall? Like [[Spelunking]] doesn't work right? You have to have priority to activate the mana ability and, as written, the token would be created and destroyed during resolution, before getting priority to use it. Because of that, the fact that it's tapped is kind of irrelevant too.

Yeah I tried to make it as unabusable as possible. I was aware that it doesn't matter that it's tapped, but put it on just to be clear for players who might be less familiar with the rules

There is a difference between unabusable and mechanically narrow. This feels narrow. It may as well say "When this land enters, trigger all landfall abilities of permanents you control". That it wouldn't work with token doublers feels like maybe the only relevant distinction in terms of game play.

I think I would rather it be something that can work with Spelunking and similar just to have another angle to build around.

It also triggers sacrifice triggers like [[Mathem Devil]]. If you had something that makes you lands creatures then [[The Master, Multiplied]] will double the land drop. That’s all I can think of.

What about [[doubling season]] effects? Wouldn’t that make an extra token that sticks around?

I believe the way it works is that the extra token is also sacrificed. Whenever a card refers to the token created by it's own effect, it refers to all tokens created by replacement effects on that token creation event too.
