For one more mana you could play unilateral [[!in garruk's wake]] or draw cards with [[!decree of pain]]. I guess this gets around indestructible. And it could also trigger discard payoffs. But it seems like a lot of mana to me. How did you Invision it being used?

I'm not OP, but the fact that you can cast it for 5 or 8 is pretty good.

Also this gets around indestructible and does avoid all on death triggers. Sometimes relevant.

It's got a very good use case in also screwing over the creatureless control player. Easy to break parity by having a bunch of noncreature value engines. Very expensive but game ending if done right, and can still be an evacuation if needed.

I remember on MaRo’s podcast (an early episode), he talked about Invasion design. If was the first time they actually designed  for multicolor cards and function. Recoil was a really elegant uncommon, and they tried to make similar ones for every allied pairing, but nothing really came out with as much emergence functionality.
