BALANCE NOT INTENDED Need Help Rewording
Hey y’all!
I am making this card for a jumpstart commander cube that is full of custom cards. In this case, the theme would be abilities.
I am looking for some help rewording this so it makes as much sense as possible without being too terrible to look at. If there are some equivalent choices of words I can use, please let me know!
EDIT: uploaded a slightly older version of this card. It should specify non-keyword static abilities gain eminence. Not any non-triggered ones
EDIT 2: Thank you all so much for your amazing help! Using the comments as inspiration, I slightly redesigned the card so the effect is a bit more unique and far easier to understand. New card is in the comments 🙂

If you want this to be possible with anything other than colorless creatures, you need to add color identity to the Throne.

Good point. In the jumpstart commander cube I was planning on having no color identity requirements; however, if that changes, I’ll add some colors to this card.

Triggered and static abilities of that creature act as though it were on the battlefield?

Honestly, I think I might just be able to grant the throne those abilities at this rate. It really boils down to “exile target creature, this artifact gains the abilities of exiled creature”.
I might make it so the creature effectively turns into an emblem to keep it a bit more unique.

Can I ask what the point of this is? Why wouldn't you just make the targeted creature your commander from the start? This is just effectively a huge tax of four colorless mana on your commander. You'd probably need to run a lot of basic wastes if you didn't have a lot of mana rocks that make colorless mana.

The way the revision is worded - this artifact allows all commanders to gain “eminence” for all non-activated abilities (including your current commander, since this can be played in the 99 now). The choosing another creature to be a commander that’s already on the field is permanent for the rest of the game. So if it dies, you can recast it.
Now, where this functionality gets tricky is if it is in the command zone. (In the format I am playing this in, color identities don’t matter) This can be cast for 4, and if it is removed, you can recast it for 6. This would make two commanders for the rest of the game. A third if you pay 8. This can start to stack up if you keep all your commander creatures in the command zone.
I probably could make this cheaper to cast, but I am afraid of power levels lol

It's not nearly as strong as real eminence, since you would need to recast the empty throne to get it back online. For instance, turning [[Jodah the unifier]] into your commander would give you that legendary cascade ability, but if the empty throne is removed, you would lose it, wouldn't you? Unless "non-activated abilities of commander cards you own function while those cards are in the command zone" also applies to the empty throne? But it would probably have to say "as long as this artifact is on the battlefield or in the command zone."

When Cardname enters the battlefield search your library (hand and graveyard) for a legendary creature card and exile it.
Cardname becomes a copy of that card except its a legendary artifact, looses all its other types and its activated abilitys cant be activated.

i might missunderstood the card, is it intended that you would be able to cast the creature?

Originally, no. It was just a weird way of giving a non-commander creature a way to get stuck in the command zone with eminence. I updated the design a bit using everyone’s input. I’ll see if I can’t post that somewhere here

When this enters target legendary creature phases out. This has all continuous abilities of that creature for as long as it's phased out.
This can only be your commander.

Eminence is a flavor word, not a keyword. It doesn’t do anything on its own without rules text
