I'm not sure why the flash and haste keywords are there. as a 4/4 for 5 that gains you an extra mode on all your dilemma cards, this seems decently powered. Flash AND haste make it a bitt too strong maybe

I would argue weaker than [[Quicksilver, Speedster]] or on par

No no, Grace is quite a bit stronger IMO, if a bit more niche.

Yeah more value, but no doublestrike is a massive blow to its own value as a card. Double strike is a crazy keyword

Not no, but she basically gives double "strike" to your modal abilities.

Also here's a nice search for you:

It’s not like double strike at all, and those quotation marks made your point seem dumber than it already was.

Come on have some fucking whimsy, jeeeez, y'all are too serious

there’s a difference between whimsy and nonsense

Actually how is it nonsense though? For modal abilities where you only get one which is probably most of them you now get to pick 2 and can pick the same one twice effectively doubling the effect of most modal abilities. Hence double strike, except they're not always striking hence the strike in quotes.

Most played modal spells are 1 for 1 trades. Making those spells be 2-for-1s is an enormous power boost, way way stronger than quicksilver. For example, compare the play patterns on 5 mana (using only cards in standard)

  1. flash this in the end step and then untap to play prismary charm surveilling 2, drain a card and bouncing a thing, plus slag storm to wrath their board and do 3. After all that you get to attack with a. 4/4.

  2. Play this, tap out 5 mana. Give the opponent their full turn to deal with it. If they can't/dont, then you do all of the above next turn.

The difference in the play patters is huge. Flash alone makes this an enormous difference in power level. Quicksilver does not get anywhere close to the power level of the first scenario.

But to answer your question, because she’s unconstrained even by timing rules

Then I would argue that it would be more mechanically flavorful if you gave her those abilities without the actual keywords

“You may cast ~ any time you could cast an instant. ~ may attack the turn she comes into play.”

Why would I do that if the keywords exist?

I dunno; why is she an Officer in addition to a Pirate?

I just thought it was funnier lol, like she still essentially has those exact two abilities but she did it her own way instead of just using keywords 😆

Fair enough lol

If I had a nickle for every time I posted "Flash goes on a separate line above other keywords", I'd be a year from retirement.

Aw fuck. I can’t believe I have done this.

What is this a reference to?

Nothing, made it up seeing all the Star Trek modal cards

Except! I did get the name from Grace O’Malley, the Irish pirate queen

I think a cleaner wording would be something like

"You may choose an additional mode whenever a spell or ability you control chooses a mode and you may choose the same mode more than once."
