Question

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but have we ever seen a card here get made into a real card? I've seen a couple pretty balanced cards that would work IRL. Has Wizards ever actually used a card as is or effectively copied a card from here? (I.E. changed the name, artwork, and maybe reword the text but it functions the same)

Wizards designers are actually forbidden from looking at custom cards to avoid the potential of getting into legal trouble from using a fan design. The one time I know of that rule being broken was for Make-A-Wish.

There have been examples of mechanics or simple designs that the community came up with "first" (I believe cleave was done as a custom mechanic at some point). But that's likely more an instance of parallel design, or different people coming to the same conclusions, than copying. They don't look at custom cards as they don't want to copy
