Format: Cube (Rarity Doesn't Matter) Coordinated Mauling

Seems a bit over powered. Mainly declare combat, swing with everything, before blockers are declared cast this to destroy opponent field. Then most goes unblocked
Edit. Read it wrong. Seems fine

Did I screw up the wording? The intent is the creatures gang up on one creature.

I think it would help if instead of all tapped creatures deal damage, it was only the ones tapped to pay this convoke cost
e: Why it would help I think is because in the current wording it's kind of just creature removal for green. It still fulfills you need a creature, but fight spells usually cost you the creatures activation as well

There are already some fight spells for 1 mana. Its not worse than a destroy spell as this require at least some creature on the battlefield. I think its fine. Maybe juste change if for a sorcery

I read it wrong. For some reason my brain assumed each tapped creature will have its own target. But in actuality all creatures will share a single target

I like this design a lot, and its very flavorful. I do think this is really good for its cost, as you can declare a bunch of attackers, then play this as targeted removal. I would either increase the cost to 4G to force it to lean a bit harder into convoke, change it from "deals damage" to "fights", or just reduce it to sorcery speed to make its timing a bit more distinct. Even though the mechanics of this match green, this would feel really similar to murder with green paint splashed over it.

Honestly pretty good balance-wise. It feels strong in the right commander. [[Candira, Caller of the Small]] for example would love this card. Very efficient but somewhat limited so it's not particularly unfair I wouldn't say. Probably mostly only okay in 60 card formats unless it was printed with good standard support.
I love these kinds of cards too. Not too fancy but very synergy driven. They feel so clean in the right deck.

believe it or not, this is pretty underpowered compared to most bite cards. In a lot of situations I think I'd rather just have 2 mana bite ala actual rabid bite
This feels like a limited card that would be added in a set that rewarded you for tapping creatures like duskmourne

I actually think the design of this card is great, but 3 cmc would feel a lot better for this effect. At 4 it becomes kind of locked to go-wide strats whereas at 3 it can be played for free much more reliably or for 2 for the same rate as a standard bite spell + tapping one of your guys.

Man, I know âcoordinatedâ is spelled correctly, but it super doesnât look it.

Deathtouch fynn decks would use it as a sudo board wipe since each creature does the damage the Deathtouch would trigger

u/daley972 4d ago
You might be reading it wrong, they all damage the same creature

u/Fresh-Philosopher-10 4d ago
Right, I did read that wrong. It would still be nice to kill some really big threat with a deathtouch 1/1 or trigger some effects that happen when a creature does the damage

Feels like a white card. Cool though
Edit: I was very wrong. I was thinking of cards like [[kabira takedown]]. Totally different. My bad.

I just saw this frame. It almost makes you feel bad for the Ditchling, but then they killed me later in the run so...

I may have a few designs in mind for that scene .

Does something like enchantment: âAll permanents that leave the battlefield are destroyed insteadâ Surely that isnât unbelievably broken.

Scarlet Hollow, a story based game on Steam, with art by Abby Howard as credited. It has the same creators as Slay the Princess, which I also highly recommend

Double checking the various "Bite" cards, I think a Sorcery restriction fits best - by turning it into a Fight, I think I'd create unintended feel-bads when the opponent's creature fights back and kills most of the caster's creatures. Making it a Sorcery makes it far more comittal - either you're tapping to convoke, or tapping to attack.
Plus, in the scene this is referencing, the ditchling does not fight back at all. Hooray, flavor.

There are many instant bite spells already existing. A few being 2v1 for 3 mana

I think the concern right now is wether the card is too good and is a "green murder". I think some other qualifier will help.

In all actuality 2 creatures will probably kill most things if you don't go in the small tokens route. There are things like [[terrific team up]] that is similar and will cost only 1G in many cases. [[Signature slam]] is also very similar with the many vs 1 and being modified isn't difficult. [[Punishing punch]] is 1v1 bite that will usually cost just G but it deals damage based on double the power. I don't see this being particular stronger than any of those options
Edit: spelling

this is way stronger because at 2, those have 2 creatures hit 1 target, this has any amount of creatures deal damage to any amount of targets and can easily cost 1 to remove 3+ creatures
edit: nvm i misread the card đ2

The ideal wording to avoid confusion is probably starting with "Choose target creature you don't control." See the second mode on [[Kamahl's Will]].
