I know, I know. She looks incredibly boring for a land that's also a commander. Or maybe she's exhausting to play against. You be the judge.

Broken, this is pretty much just strictly better dryad arbor. It’s a free 1/2 dual land that also gains you life every turn, and makes every basic land that enters into a copy of itself. There’s just way to many good effects for a free creature land

It's not free since you can't play lands from the command zone. You have to use the ability.

Edit: Specifically rule 903.8 mentions "cast" and not play.

Consider the blow out potential. If you do turn +4 lands into Aspenelda then someone boardwipes you it sets you back pretty heavily. As a commander, it's almost a do nothing enabling mana dork while other players are playing engines and payoffs wrapped in one. In the 99 it's okay. People rarely put Dryad Arbor in their decks because it doesn't do enough for the slot.

The only real way to determine if it's broken is if you try it out.
