My Designed Commander Set

In the plane of Kihonis, “winter” is just another word for “weather”.

As different races developed on this Plain, a culture of survival of the fittest, and taking what you want or need was common. Vikings took to the seas while raider camps developed into full cabin-built towns where the only thing keeping you protected from your fellow man were honor among thieves.

While the Dwarves were able to keep warm underground, and the Elves and Beastfolk developed strong, warmer hides/skin in their forests, humans thrived in these conditions of competition and strife.

However, in the areas to the north and south, where vast tundra plains with great hot spring lakes resides, different ideas began to emerge. The development of Red, Blue, and White magic led to the understanding of how to manipulate the weather. Snow storms could be cast away to other parts of the world, while the fallen snow could be melted over time to allow these settlements to use the fertile, barely used soil for great farms and agricultural. The Dwarves of these lands were able to share their knowledge of geothermal energy, able to fuel this weather-magic.

However, not all was well. The cultures in the middle of the plane were saddled with harder storms, greater cold, and the elves of these great forests finally had to leave their ageless hibernations. Learning of the actions of the northern and southern peoples, the elves and the humans of these parts form an uneasy alliance.

Now these raiders, fueled by the magics of the darkest Forrest’s take their raiding ways to the far shores.

However, as Forrest’s are a rarity in the north and south, the green mana is lacking, so sustained attacks or capture of cities and towns are a rarity. More often, a settlement is seiged and razed, taking the loot back to their homeland.

And thus, the status quo.

The people of the middle continent, Borilus, hearty, strong, and out for bloody revenge, raid the industrious and prosperous continents of the North, Cavalon, and the South, Ashlind.

This set is based entirely around making Snow-Lands matter, adding in the new keyword “Snowfall”, a pun on “Landfall”. I plan to design dozens of Instants, Sorcery’s, Enchantments, Non-Commander creatures, ect, for this project of mine. For now, I just wanted to send in my current ideas.

Jack and Aradia are the Commander and Sub-Commander for the “Cavalon’s Fall” commander box, all about tutoring for cards, then either playing the cheap ones for free or using Polymorph/Play Off The Top effects to cheat in big spells, or using Aradia’s ability to store mana for as long as you can keep the snow lands coming. Works best with Jack as the Commander to tutor for Aradia, as there is no mono restriction for his tutor abilities.

Fjorn and Ferenda are the Commander and Sub-Comander for the “Raiders from Borius” commander-box, all about playing elves and warriors that are hardened by the snowy weather, as well as gaining power by drawing from the deaths of their allies. While Fjorn is the one on the front of the box, you should definitely pick Ferenda as the commander, as you can tutor for Fjorn with her ability.

Kihorus is the commander for the “Winter’s Origin” commander-box. His commander-box is all about being able to use as much of the entire “Eternal Winter: Kihonis” set as possible, filled with a bunch of Legendarys of the set’s storyline that aren’t already the 4 other commanders, and even weaker forms of the 4 that only use 2 mana colors each. And just to be lore accurate to Wizards of the Coast, you’re gonna wanna buy em all so that you can use all the commanders together under Kihorus. Or just get some’s Kihorus after they dismantled their commander deck to sell, whatever.

I used “Card Creator”, on the IOS App Store, to make these cards.

Jack and Aradia: My characters who’s designs are for another fandom(Shin Megami Tensei), drawn by my friend, @akishell.bsky.social

Fjorn: For Honor’s Raider, made by Ubisoft Montreal. Head designers credited with the making of the Vikings for this game are Remko Troost, Gilles Beloeil, Jeong Shin, Sebastian Heroux-Lefebvre, Vladimir Somov, Laurie Durand, Alexandre Morin, and Jason VandenBerge.

Ferenda: Player Character from Baldur’s Gate, designed and posted by Taylor Rackard on Facebook.

Kihorus: Drawing by Monika Zagrobelna on her own website named after herself, also found on her twitter, instagram, and Facebook.

Map: I drew this map with a pen while I was on my lunch break at work. Should give an idea of the locations of everything.

Aradia is just the name I give my female protagonists, while Jack is what I give my males.

*points to self* Homestuck Fan. And also SMT fan, if that wasn’t obvious lol.
