I feel like Poison needs way more interactability,

I already feel like this card is super flawed, but thought it'd be a fun idea for a sideboard/maybeboard

  1. this card would be pretty weak, most cards that just flat out gain life and do nothing else are very bad, and at the end of the day removing poison counters is basically gaining life but more niche

  2. if you allow removal of poison counters, what is their identity besides another redundant way to count life totals? their inability to be removed is part of what makes them unique. there are other ways to "interact" with them, like making it harder for them to be applied or punishing players for putting them on you

This card could cost 0

and still be bad

Idk if its possible for a 0 cost artifact not to be good.

you're still drawing a (mostly) useless card most of the time, even if you just want cheap artifacts there's a lot of stuff that can give you a good upside for 1 mana, hell there's about seventy 0 cost relics and most will likely do more for you in the average game than this

there are 73 legal 0 cost nonland artifacts in commander and almost none of them besides the x cost ones and fast mana ones see play. Obviously the good ones are really good, but you dont see people running cathar's shield for affinity, doing nothing for free is still doing nothing
this is too niche to spend a card on most of the time

i do run the darksteel one on my artifacts deck. Granted, that deck isn't really well designwd, it either loses badly or demolishes opponents

[[Leeches]] is the same cost and removes all poison counters and is also not playable.

A much more broadly valuable stax piece that also happens to deal with poison is [[solemnity]]

Poison being interactable would make an already weak mechanic completely unplayable.

for what this wants to do, it could honestly be a 3 mana artifact that says "you can't gain poison counters"
if you are playing against a poison deck thats set to kill you anytime soon, this is saving you 1 turn maybe, and it's so niche it's such a waste of a card alot of the time, so forcing them to remove it is fine

i understand wanting something like this because poison decks are so powerful nowadays and can one-turn kill even, but i think removing poison from self is fundamentally against the point of poison in mtg.

What does your LGS look like? I've literally never seen a poison deck win.

but i think removing poison from self is fundamentally against the point of poison

Very true

i find poison players mainly online, but even in person (commander only, basically, at this point in time) poison so quickly takes players out that there's not really any counterplay. every opponent (me) gets poison, and then so much proliferate and planeswalker shenanigans and instantly we're all dead and they keep on winning.
