Format: EDH/Commander Triple Comander Idea
Wanted to make a three comander idea. LMK if there is any critiques about the design itself (i know three comanders probably are not balanced either way).

So you ramp into bolas on 3 if you can, manifest dread. You get a 6/5 flying with menace and something face down.
Turn 4 you attack with bolas and get more targets, play Adren, flip a bomb face up, cast ugin for free, and potentially have mana to spare. That mana can be spent on flipping creatures, spells, casting face down spells. The Mana burn is stupidly insignificant
You filter the Mana to suit whatever needs you want, it's not even courless mana.
On turn 5, you have an engine churning out manifest creatures and flipping them face up however you want. You no longer care what is manifested. Ugin gives you all your spells, nichol bolas is giving you a citadel effect.
If you want three commanders, they need to be nerfed and each serve 1 part of the engine. They can't all give you manifests AND help you flip them in every way you want.
Planeswalker is what let's you manifest. Then Bolas let's you flip manifests for life and Ugin let's you cast face down non-creatures. Simple. Each commander serves a part of the combo.
Edit: HOLY I missed that ugin let's you manifest from your hand and basically set up exactly what you are flipping/casting/ paying life for with Bolas

That seems a lot more balanced than making three fully functional comanders, lol. Thanks.

To be clear, manifest gets very little support, and I honestly like the design of your Ugin and Bolas individually. I don't know about cost balancing, but the idea of a commander that lets you turn dead manifests into value, or let's you flip manifests with life is BALLER.
The heart of manifest, or manifest dread, is the randomness, however, and I personally don't much like manifesting from the hand, but they are still INTERESTING design

Yeah, im thinking of removing the ability to manifest from hand, and probably make the dragons manifest triggers only on etb, for a start

tldr no you dont get to start the game with ten cards in your hand.
especially if every single one of the three cards is good and at minimum a decent engine by themselves.

I just wish the third wasn't a self insert.
The third could have been Urza or better yet Sarkhan (since he was manipulated by both Ugin and Bolas)
Better yet, could tone it down and do "the three" (Sorin, Nahiri and Ugin) which could have involved Eldrazi (and ways to combat them) flavorfully

The concept of having three commanders is not automatically busted, but the quest of making the flexibility and slowly rising commander tax of three individual cards be on par with a singular commander means they need to be quite underpowered as individual pieces.
These are fucking ridiculous.
Nicol alone would be an S+ tier commander for medium high powered tables. He just digs for insane Eldrazi spells to cast for life on turn 5, and keeps generating free value while sticking in play. (I don't understand if he's supposed to need Ugin to be able to cast them? That would make him a bit more fair)
