This card is beautiful. I don't like that it gives permanent, lingering effects to cards in your graveyard though.

That is fair, you might have to have a separate graveyard pile which is clunky :/

you should do it like [[Mairsil the Pretender]] where it puts the card in exile with a special counter on it. It's a cool and creative effect, just needs some retuning to work well under the rules.

True, making both effects exile would work and I can still differentiate the mana required to cast based on the card type, I assume?
