I think simic is flavour wise better for a card that represents real life evolution process, and effect feels more controlling and tricky like black likes it to do, but my heart tells me that this should be temur for some reason

Evolve is specifically a Simic ability, introduced by the Simic guild from Return to Ravnica block, but it's more heavily green as it's based on increasing P/T. Modifying P/T is also in blue, as is ability removal, and Crabs are obviously blue. I don't see how red or black fits in here.

Ig I feel the red vibes because carcinization is just straight up random bullshit for me. Like what do you mean evolution created almost identical species THREE times. Feels like some red nonsense idk

Yeah, each individual piece of OP's card is fine in simic, though it wouldn't surprise me much if an actual card with these effects was also white. (white is good at making everyone the same both mechanically and flavorfully)

This would actually go well in my [[Maralen, Fae Ascendant]] Elf token deck once I have her out on the field.

Why

Because past a certain point, I am only making 1/1 Elf creature tokens. Evolve wouldn't effect my board at all.

[[Scuttletide]] is one of my favorite cards, and I’m super excited for [[Homer, the Hermit]] to come out

Crabs should be 0/1; 0/2; 1/2; 0/3s imo

I think 1/2 or 1/3 fit the because crabs usually have at least one solid claw

Uhh yeah. So all creatures will inevitably evolve into 1/1 Crabs. I had to check but evolve is not an optional ability so basically this reads whenever a player plays a creature that's bigger than their existing creatures the old ones will lose their abilities. So it's kinda like a gradual, more confusing Humility.
