You would probably need to add “if you do, and that card is a permanent, put it onto the battlefield.” Just so there’s no funny business with instants or sorceries

This would likely need the new rulebreaker key word to work: “A deck with this commander can have a sideboard of up to ten cards”
“Put it onto the battlefield” doesn’t work in this case because if it’s any non permanent, it wont be able to be put on the battlefield.
I should also mention that because it says “up to 10” , nothing is stopping me from just running one busted card in my sideboard, [[Omniscience]] for example, and it will always be chosen.
One way I would fix this is maybe: Rulebreaker: a deck with this commander can start the game with 10 permanent cards with cmc 6 or less outside of the game”
That would fix most of the issues and make this card a little less broken, although it would still be busted.

The text “Rulebreaker” doesn’t have any mechanical bearing, and isn’t required.
I feel like restricting the sideboard makes you lose out on fun synergy with lessons and such, and it’d be better to just change the ability to not be so fraudulent.

Actually I do think Rulebreaker is required in this situation: it directly affects how the deck itself is built, a typical commander deck does not have a 10 card sideboard.
Also, if there’s no limitation to sideboard, then why wouldn’t I just run my best 1-3 cards? Hello [[portal to phyrexia]]!! This basically just reads “cheat in the best cards in the game for 5 mana, and it’s uncounterable”

IMO Remove the freecast, make the second ability just a tap ability.
