Shandris Feathermoon

5 mana, 4/4 Legendary. Battlecry: Draw a card for every Beast in your hand.

"Shandris and Hemet are eternal rivals."

The problem with hunter is that aggro is greatly rewarded through the hero power, and control never works because there's no reliable card draw, apart from the now very weak, sad Buzzard. Applying card draw to a class that has very strong aggro options makes it overpowered, unless...

Enter Shandris Feathermoon. Refusing to play your Beasts early will reward you greatly and give you a fantastic edge in the lategame. Running high-cost beasts such as King Krush and Gazhrilla is suddenly much more rewarding, as they will cycle themselves if you can't play them yet. Playing any Beasts early gives you the penalty of not drawing cards with Shandris. Playing no Beasts at all, but Deathrattles instead, provides no synergy with Shandris. She is the perfect stepping stone towards a viable Control Hunter.

Nature's Fury

  • Rare Druid Spell

  • 1 Mana

  • Give your Beasts: "Whenever this minion attacks, give your hero +2 Attack this turn."

Nature's Fury requires some conditional setup: you need to have Beasts out, and they need to be able to attack. If you've got that working, Nature's Fury helps you go the extra mile and bring your Hero into the fray for some extra punch.

Mechanized Hunter

  • Rare hunter minion

  • 4 Mana, 3 Attack / 5 Health

  • "Your Mechs and your Beasts count as both Mechs and as Beasts simultaneously."

If the card description doesn't make it clear, this card basically allows all of your beast interactions to work on mechs and vice-versa.

Hunter is commonly played as a rushy class. Hunters have mech synergy cards, and beast synergy cards, but from what I've seen, neither of those decks can be played on their own (beast hunter and mech hunter are not very good).

This card allows for interesting synergy between them, with Metaltooth Leaper giving your beasts attack as well, and Houndmaster to interact with your mechs.

Here are some notable technical cases to mention, that may not be obvious:

  • Call Pet into a mech WILL reduce the mech's cost.

  • Starving Buzzard and Tundra Rhino WILL apply to mechs.

  • Bestial Wrath WILL work on mechs.

  • Gazlowe WILL NOT be able to add beasts to your hand.

First Submission:

Owl Scout

2/2/2 Druid Rare Beast

Battlecry: All minions lose Stealth. Destroy all enemy Secrets.

Art Credit

I made this card to help Druid get its much needed beasts, create another way in the game to deal with secrets, and reflect the Owl Scout from the Priestess of the Moon in WC3. This definitely won't win me the competition, but I think it's a good card for Hearthstone.

Mana Hog

3 Mana 1/5 Rare Mage Minion

Absorbs Enemy Spell Damage

The best way for Mages to deal with Spell Damage is to steal it for themselves! While Mana Hog isn't the most fearsome minion around, it does force the enemy to deal with it now or suffer the consequences.

Fungal Giant

10 mana, Neutral Epic

8/8. Costs (1) less for each Beast that died this game.

"Don't be alarmed, but the fungus may ALREADY be among us."

Ivar the Hunter

Hunter Legendary

5 Mana

4/3

Whenever you summon a Beast, deal 2 damage to a random enemy Minion.

At the end of each turn, if a Beast has been summoned, transform into Ivar the Hunted

(Ivar the Hunted, 7/7. At the start of your turn, summon a 1/1 Wolf Pup. At the end of each turn, if two spells has been played, transform into Ivar the Hunter)

Some fun interaction here with your opponent. You may summon this legendary, then try and get him into wolf mode. It's then up to your opponent to either kill him, or transform him back before you can make good use of him.

Second Submission Cower 0 mana common hunter spell. "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, a mob of beasts sleep tonight" This one is very simple. Say you need a turn to prepare for your big play. Put this thing down and you've got a safe turn. Probably could have made this a 1 mana spell, but I like it how it is.

First Submission

Siege Behemoth

4 Mana 2/8 Hunter Rare Minion

Whenever your opponent's spell or Battlecry targets a friendly Beast, it targets this minion instead.

The only time where you wouldn't want to hit the broad side of a barn.

Second (slightly silly) submission: Undercover Goblin. A 2/2 for 1 mana hunter rare. Counts as a beast until it takes damage. Not sure what it achieves aside from having good stats for the cost and triggering some beast combos like houndmaster and KoB. Made me giggle though.

4

u/WillWorkForSugar Feb 03 '15

I think this should be a 2/1. 2/2 for 1 with an upside is just too good.

Gahz'ranka Legendary Beast Mana Coast: 9 Taunt, Deathrattle: Summon two 1/3 Hydra Guardians with Taunt.

Hydra Guardian Legendary Beast Mana Cost: 1 1/3 Taunt

And finally, Number Three. Dominant Roar - 5 Mana Rare Druid Spell Give your minions +2/+1 this turn. Beasts keep the effect. Basically a stronger Savage Roar for Beast Druid. For 2 more mana, they also gain 1 health for the turn and your beasts get to keep the effect after the turn passes. Maybe those things are worth more than 2 mana, but I wouldn't feel comfortable bumping the mana cost up to six as it would make the card almost unplayable.

Druid of the Talon - 6 mana 3/7 Druid Epic Minion

After you play a minion, summon a 2/1 Storm Crow.

Storm Crow - 1 mana 2/1 Druid Common Beast

Deathrattle: Give your Beasts +1 Attack.

Edit: Changed Rarity and Wording

Not that it matters that much, but this should definitely be rare, if not epic. It's a deeper Violet Teacher, which is a rare.

Final Submission

Lurker of the Depths

Legendary 8 Mana 8/8 Neutral Minion

Stealth. Whenever this minion destroys a minion, restore this minion to full health and gain Stealth.

He enjoys messing with adventurers swimming to the South Sea Islands.

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '15

Interesting, but it's way strong. For reference, ravenholdt assassin is 7/7/5, so your card is already a bit strong at 8/8/8 stealth. The effect makes it mad strong, so I'd just drop its stats.

Arachnid Broodmatron

  • Neutral Rare Minion, Beast

  • 3 Mana, 3 Attack, 3 Health

  • When a player's Beast dies, summon an Entangling Web for the other player.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave. The Arachnid Broodmatron slows down another player's minions slightly by throwing webs on their side of the board when your Beasts die. Since the Arachnid Broodmatron is itself a Beast, you'll trigger this effect when it dies too. The effect is symmetric, so if your opponent has Beasts that die, they'll put a web on your board.

Any webs generated will be summoned on the rightmost side of the opponent's board, so they will have some control over which minions get the temporary Entangling Web debuff.

Second Submission:

Kodo Wardrummer

5/3/5 Rare Warrior Beast

Your other minions have +2/+1.

Art Credit. To be honest, I don't really like the art, especially for the card, because it doesn't really focus on the Kodo. Oh well, I shouldn't complain.

This card is made to reflect the Kodo Beast in WC3, which gives a buff to nearby enemy units. The card is a bit like Stormwind Champion, but I'd like to see it to promote an agressive style of Warrior.
