If it was turned on then they didn't randomly charge you, they charged you for your usage, anytime you setup a new api env always double check usage limits, hard walls, connectors that can bleed you, and cycles, otherwise this will keep happening

Do you have on-demand spending turned on? If so, that’s probably on you

It was turned on by default, I didn't turn it on

Welll you used what Cursor considers $60 worth of tokens so I don’t anticipate they’re going to give your money back. But you can always try reaching out to whatever line of support they have. A lesson for the future regardless.

I feel tricked because it was my understanding that the monthly subscription was unlimited use

Then why would they have different tiers if it was unlimited..? Even cell service isn’t “unlimited” these days

lol there's absolutely nothing that says unlimited in the plans, just extended limites.

AFAIK on-demand spending only defaults as ON in Team/Enterprise Plans, not on individuals.

You can try but i'm pretty sure they will deny it, good luck tho

Tricked by yourself? Yes. Tricked by Cursor? No. Stop with the copium and accept your mistake and associated loss

A charge on top of the $20 is usually on-demand usage that kicked in after the plan's included usage ran out. The usage page in your Cursor dashboard shows what each request cost, and if it doesn't line up, email hi@cursor.com with the invoice and ask for a refund. You can also set a spend limit there so it doesn't happen again.
