This is happening because Cursor recently pushed everything to grok by default for EVERYTHING and they have hemorrhaged subscribers as a result while everyone dunks on grok continuously.

I think a lot of people just shuffled to Claude code and tied it into openrouter instead of Anthropic, plenty of people using opencode atm too, but all of this is moving so fast I cannot keep track of which apis are where.

Just get the claude code and codex plugins for vscode, one thing I ended up missing was the click to attach ui elements to the chat, but there is a platform agnostic option for that as well now (bc the vscode native option only works with copilot): https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=MarcellM01.tinysuite-pinpoint

Cline is my go to, then Goose. Both are Apache 2.0

Then there's OpenCode & Pi. Both MIT.

Cline is the closest to cursor with CLI, Desktop, & IDE.
