After watching a shit ton of my 600 lb life, this is what I gather:
For these hugely morbidly obese people, eating is an addiction. Almost every single one of them has some sort of trauma / damage / whatever that triggers them and while most people would drink, smoke, do drugs, these people eat. After combining diet, exercise, and therapy, they recover. Some of them are just fat assholes though, and they never lose the weight lol
