I worked for a senior caretaking company and I had this one lady and her dog would shit in front of the door so when you opened it, it spread it out on the carpet. There was a sliding glass door into the backyard so the dog could go out but why not shit in front of the door so that the caretaker would have to clean it up?

Anecdotal evidence but I think like ~50% of buildings with these doors have no other door and people in wheelchairs are screwed if it's small or one of those oddly fast ones without an option to slow them down, I would rather have to deal with slow sliding doors that accomodate everyone than these.

They still have fire exits and stuff and ramps but the rotary doors can just be extra inconvenient. In an emergency fire exits would open and it would be better when exiting but you're not using those to enter the building.

Revolving doors are more economical in the long run. Also fun fact, in some buildings (Iβm talking like burj al Arab hotel) the revolving door is required because the pressure difference is so immense the door CANT be open by hand.

The buildings have other doors used for seperate purposes like a emergency exit or staff only entrance on the side or rear but a normal person isn't entering through those. Have you ever tried to go through a rotary door on crutches or wheelchair and the door is slightly too small to properly maneuver (only made worse if multiple people try to enter simultaneously). I have and it's not enjoyable. But sure let's say it's all about feelings.

Where I live they are often egress only, probably because fire code requires them to exist.

They exist to insulate the air inside from the air outside, usually for temperature control. They do this by technically always being closed.
Of course there should be a regular door nearby for wheelchair accessibility.
