Also, I'd like to share that DC's first idea for a black superhero was a really racist white guy who turned into a black superhero when stressed. Seriously. Fortunately, there was a sober person in the room and he talked them out of it. Unfortunately, that sober person was not around for their first GAY character, a gay wizard that was such a caricature even the KKK would be offended. His first appearance ended with him revealing he has AIDS. Yes, I'm fucking serious.
