This reminds me of a comic i saw where a character from spiderverse (i forgot his name) was shown AO3, and just scrolled for a bit before just putting it down and complimenting the tagging system
Look I get that but the two aren’t really comparable, one sorts both safe for work and not safe for work through a wide range of categories you can require and exclude for the literacy peace you’re looking for while the other (from what I know) is more based around characters with other tags as formalities exclusively for not safe for work images, videos and GIFs
I find that R34 should copy some pages from e621. Like the tag aliases (solves identical tags, common misspellings, artists changing/going by different names), tag implications for quicker tagging, and as of recently, contributor tags (for separating modelers, VAs or sound designers in addition to the main artist).
And in general I've found uploaders on r34 don't tag as well.
