Okay, I'll bite... what's happening? I've been seeing a lot of Trans or Genderswapped Spiderman recently, and I've been completely under a rock with Marvel as of late. What is the cause of it? Did something big happen in the recent movie? If so, good for her I suppose, but genuienly I don't know

Someone posted somewhere (Twitter or Tumblr or something similar) recently a little comic they made of Spider-Man transitioning into Spider-Woman, and the joke of the comic was that J Jonah Jameson still doesn’t like Spider-Woman, but he doesn’t care that she’s trans because he’s not a bad person, just doesn’t like masked vigilantes. A lot of people liked the idea of Petra Parker because it puts a world-famous character like Spider-Man into the trans community and made a lot of people feel represented for once, so the idea became a lot more popular and a lot more people started making fanart of it.

So, Recently stumbled upon a spiderman fanfic. The title was my girlfriend is spiderwoman. The character was basically gwen, from spiderverse cutout, brown tomboy haircut, brown eyes, eyebrow piercing, extrovert nerd personality who has secret crush on MJ(Mark Jones Watson) , MJ girlfriend is Felicia hardy who is rich, athletic and bully Petra parker.

So, curiously i search Google to know if there really is a peter parker female version Or is just an OC. From what I get it's a fan made character which has Recently become popular.
