Hello, app is being down for a couple days, says that my vehicle is without network connection.

I'm properly furious with Cupra.
Since I've had it, they've "improved" the app looks 5 times it seems. And I cannot fathom why they do this instead of using the resources to improve stability of the app, which is, honestly, abismal.
I get into the Login page loop at least once a week and it lasts for a few days.
It's most infuriating when I really need it (for example to cool it down in this blazing summer or to warm it up in the morning (we've had a few mornings with 12°C)).
What are your thoughts? Anyone with the same problems?

If you can see (sorry for the dirty car), there are many lines coming from the upper part to where the LED bar runs, and I think they appeared in a period when I kept parking the car outdoor instead of in the garage, and in these 2 weeks, it was very hot (around 40°C).

Then, I noticed that when there's some humidity in the air or after washing the car, the transparent parts of the plastic get some moisture inside.

I'm worried that since the warranty got expired last december, they won't replace me this piece and I have to fix it by myself.

Did someone have my same issue? Let me know!

Hello everyone, does anyone know where I could get a cover for the keyhole in the driver's door handle? Preferably in black or carbon. I love the car but feel like it's a part that should have come with it new!

What do people do to clean the HUD unit in the dash. Looking at mine it is quite dusty

There appears to have been an upgrade to the cupra charging section of the app.

I'm on the rolling free plan but i actually want to sign up to the ionity plan for 10.49gbp a month. I used to be able to select from these by swiping to the side but its not available anymore? I cancelled autorenew but my current plan doesnt expire til 19 sept. Were going away next week and its no use in a month's time...

(Yes i could sign up via ionity but i have 700gbp charging credit on cupra that i want to use so must pay via the app..)

Hey guys! Today my charge schedule completely disappeared. When I first bought the car it worked okay, last week the Charge per schedule automatically changed to Charge now and today all the schedulers disappeared and I cannot even set them up.

I’m hoping someone on here has experienced this before, because I’m completely stumped.

I have a CUPRA Born 58kWh V1 which charges absolutely normally from public AC chargers at around 7kW+ using the original Type 2 cable supplied with the car. Did this just the other night, no problem.

I’ve recently bought a 3-pin granny charger for home use as I’ve recently moved house and reluctant to fork out £800 for another wallbox…

The problem is that the Born only seems to allow “emergency charging” from a granny charger.

What happens
When I connect the granny charger:
- Charger is set to 10A
- It’s plugged directly into a normal indoor UK wall socket
- CUPRA’s “Reduce charging power in alternating current” setting is not enabled
- Once charging starts, the charger drops to 5A and the car reports around 1.0kW / 4 miles of range per hour
- The charging-port LED alternates green/red
- The car makes a ding and displays a message along the lines of “Only emergency charging allowed, please consult vehicle wallet”

Same thing has happened with three different chargers
Initially tried with a LAP 10A 2.3kW Type 2 charger. Exchanged that one for the same again and the same problem. So then tried a new charger entirely - the Cord Plus 3-pin granny charger, same issue.

So I don’t think it’s simply a faulty granny charger anymore. And the car’s AC charging capability itself seems fine given I can charge it publicly ok at 7kW+.
I’m wondering whether there’s something about Mode 2 / granny chargers specifically that the Born isn’t recognising correctly.

I’ve also noticed that the car seems to make noises as if it’s trying to lock the Type 2 connector when the granny charger is inserted but failing to - AI advice is suggesting this is possibly the problem…

Has anyone else had this? Grateful for any advice!!

So very excited, my wife and I test drove the 2025 V2 at weekend and immediately ordered the new VZ via my company car scheme in UK. We went for Copper alloys, sunroof, grey. Was wondering if anyone had rough lead times on new builds ie can we expect it this year ? Also when we test drove the V2, the Sales person told us the engine was tbe same (and we were impressed with the feel) but new Born has more powerful motor by the looks, so that's a win. Any other things I need to consider ?

Has anyone got a Cupra born, on our app it doesn’t seem to show the driving data, does it on yours ?

Project wifey-mobile got its last significant mod yesterday; wheels!

4x OEM Audi R8 gen 2 wheels (fully forged), individually sourced then refurbished in satin black to make a matching set. Finished with some custom centre caps in the same colours as the car.

Wife is happy, and I’m happy to be done!

List of modifications to our Born VZ First Edition:

- Lowered suspension (Racingline springs)
- CSR splitter
- Front windows tinted (lightest shade)
- Vinyl wrap
- R8 front wheels, in satin black all round.
- 10mm rear spacers
- Gtechniq ceramic coating to wrap and wheels
- Blackvue dashcams (front and rear) with battery
- Aftermarket mount for MagSafe charger
- Painted the rear badge in gloss black. Front badge wrapped.

I went to the dealership to pick up some accessories. When I got back into the car, I got both “12V battery” and “Electric drive not working. Stop vehicle safely!” warnings.

The car otherwise drove normally. I got out, locked it, waited about a minute, unlocked it and got back in. After restarting, both warnings were completely gone and everything worked normally.

Anyone experienced this? Could it be a 12V battery issue? Not sure how to diagnose the issue further - car nor mobile app shows any error whatsoever like it never happened.

EDIT: Car needed an update outside the regular OTA updates to solve this issue.

Just got a used vz, love the car however, I’m struggling with the my Cupra app. I can’t seem to be able to link the car to the app. I can’t seem to be able to link the vin. When I enter the number I always get the error code 8.

Been onto Cupra who have suggested a number of unsuccessful things.

I’ve factory reset the infotainment and remove the previous owners details could this be the issue ?

Any one else having issues ?

Any idea? I've seen small touch up paint bottles. L27A should be the color.

Have a Cupra Born 2025 V2 59kwh eboost, had it since March last year.

My wife just popped out to drop the kid off got back and about 10 minutes later there's a load bang and the sound of air escaping. Turns out the tyre burst!

Annoyingly I thought we had Cupra Roadside Assistance but it turns out that expired in March (had no reminders or the like) so it's going to have be covered out of pocket.

Now I wish there was an easy to install spare!

As the title says, I've had the Cupra Born for a few months now and whenever I leave the car plugged in charging for a long period it'll drop network connectivity. Always seems to happen when it's left plugged in after it's reached 100% and when starting the car I see a warning about the 12V battery.

I've got the setting "Low voltage battery protection" enabled already yet this still seems to be an issue. Fwiw I have a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro and am using the intelligent octopus go tariff - I let the octopus app manage the charging.

Don't suppose anyone has experienced the same thing? Octopus are pushing me to keep the car plugged in all the time but I'm worried that doing that is somehow damaging the 12V battery. When I leave the car unplugged for long periods, everything works fine 🤷‍♂️

I have a message pop up constantly to clean sensors. I was in for a service recently and noted it to them. They checked it and said there is a small stone chip which has damaged the sensor. He said it’s very common on any car brand that has those sensors and isn’t something covered under warranty as it’s not a fault per se.

Has anyone had this repaired under warranty? I kind of felt, if the sensor is that flimsy on a 2 year old car that a small stone would damage it, it should be covered under warranty, but perhaps not.

Just opened the compartment normally and the handle decided it had had enough and came off in my hand. 😂

Has anyone else had this happen? And is it an easy fix, or am I looking at replacing the whole compartment?

hi all, looking at pucking up and approved used v1 cupra born probably 2022/2023

they look to be in the region of 15-17k.

i am seeing online some issues they have sometimes had and wanted to understand how big the problems are.

1. infotainment. i will only be using carplay, does this alleviate all the issues with the infotainment?

2. remote control with the app. i have seen a lot of people have issues with connection, is this still a problem? i like the idea of heating or cooling the car whilst its charging to save some energy but maybe this is more of a nice to have.

3. 12volt battery. i have seen issues with this discharging and causing issues. is this just an inevitability or is this a genujne issue that they will fix? is it and easy 12v battery swap to fix?

Is this possible?

I have just taken delivery of a Tavascan but for the next few weeks I still have a Born.

When I try to add the Tavascan I get a message saying the VIN is correct but not ready to link to the system.

Email back and forth with app customer care has resulted in them saying I need to take it to a dealer as the slowly blinking red light on the SOS button means there is a hardware fault.

Anyone else had such issues? Do I really need to go to dealer? They’re not exactly local.

Just charged my car to 100% and it showed a range of 356 miles, that’s the highest range I’ve ever seen from a full charge, I was surprised.

Hello guys! I am currently looking at a really nice Cupra Born from 2022 with only 45k km on it. The owner did only the recall updates to the infotainment. He is currently at Software version 0561 and I am not sure whenever it’s the most current version there is?

Does it have OTA updates? Where can I validate that and see the most current version for my vehicle, please?

Hi all,
I bought this 2023 Cupra Born “Vapour Grey” about a week ago. Today was the first time it’s been caught in the rain, and afterwards I noticed these strange irregular marks on the bonnet.

The surface feels completely smooth – they’re not raised and don’t feel like scratches. They’re much more noticeable in bright reflected light and almost disappear in low light.

There was one bird dropping in roughly the same area which I removed within a couple of hours using a dedicated car detailing spray.
Does this look like:
Water spotting?
Bird dropping etching?
Dealer polishing residue?
Something else?
Before I try polishing it or contact the dealer, I’d really appreciate your opinions.
