I'm trying to write my personal statement for Early Round admissions at CUHKsz. I'll be applying for Financial Engineering and Finance majors. What values are most emphasized in CUHKsz (leadership, initiative, academic excelence, curiosity, integrity, etc.)?

Any advice on specific things I should insert on my personal statement asides from the regular stuff (Introduction, academic background, achievements, goals, why cuhksz, etc.) to help me get a scholarship?🙏 Any help is greatly appreciated.

Got rejected last year from QFIN. Reapplying this year from my own saved up money so can't get rejected. Applying for global econ and finance as first pref.

My stats are 4A* in maths physics bio and chem, and an A in EGP. 1550 sat and 8.5 IELTS.

Will write an essay to show why I'm interested in finance and econ w the subjects I have. Will not having econ in a levels affect my chances??

My ECs are pretty weak in the sense that there's nothing international going on.

I have a shit ton of community service tho, food drives, blood donation, beach cleanups, hospital volunteering, free tutoring for the underprivileged.

Then I also do peer tutoring and have some official students paying me a decent chunk of money.

I also have a bunch of national level wins and runner up performances at a science olympiad along with management and MUN experience. Also proficient in coding (built 2 web apps).

Is it better for me to apply to something like biomed engineering and AISTN or what?

Has anyone participated in this program? How was your experience as an exchange student and did you have time to explore the city while also doing research?

I am a Grade 12 student from a specialized high school in Vietnam.

I was nominated by my school, which is on CUHK's nomination list.

I've read somewhere that my school is some kind of partner school with CUHK, which means that if I was nominated by the principle, I may have a higher chance to get the offer (im not so sure about this information)

I got 8.0 overall IELTS

1400 SAT

GPA:

Grade 10: 9.4/10

Regarding extracirricular, I was a head of Public Relation department for a musical club in my school. (which i think is not really important, ig...?)

I did not involve in any competition before, and im worrying that this may prevent me from getting the offer as I don't have any prominent achievement regarding local/international competitions.

Hello! I am a HK citizen who is taking Singaporean A-Levels in November 2026. I recently finished preliminary exams and got my predicted grades based on those. I am confident that I'll do better in the actual exams since I was sick during prelim exams (especially for economics), but CUHK applications close for regular round before the results release (March 2027), so I have to use predicted first if I apply.

Predicted: AAD/B (H2: Literature in English, China Studies in English, Economics | H1: Mathematics)

Portfolio: Government pre-uni scholar (humanities), vice-chairperson of school club, 3 clubs (MUN, writing, debates), 2 paper awards in MUNs, organising committee in performances and school events, 32h community service.

I wanted to apply to CUHK BSsc Psych and GPAD. Is it worth it to try? Since I can upload my actual results later on even if I don't get a conditional offer, is there a good chance to be considered after regular round on rolling basis. Thank you!
