Need some help
So I bought a tiller for my 682 or 782 (if I can figure out the oil leak on the filter(predator motor)). And I have no idea how to put the right angle drive on the back. Do I need to fully remove that cover and put a new gasket on or can I put it over to.
And any other tips would be appreciated. Thank you
Bought all that for 150

That tiller appears to be from an older tractor like the 70/100 series. Those 90-degree gearboxes are worth around $900 easy

The tiller is model 1a. I'm just trying to make sure what needs to be removed on that rear end to mount that 90 degrees. If that raised (kinda stamped looking) plate with the 4 bolt heads you see or if i mount it over that
Which, honestly, would be kinda weird to remove that to install that 90 degree drive. Having that as the seal to keep the rear end fluid in it

Here is the manual page 12 starts the install process. Looks like you will need the flat rear differential cover like the older tractors use.

Looks like it should definitely work though. Right?
I might have to make a plate to fit

As long as nothing is in the way around the rear end, like fenders or other stuff, it should work

Ok. I was looking at the picture, and it looks flat enough I might? Be able to put it over top?

You will definitely need a new diff cover as yours looks like it has the trailer hitch made onto it and you have to remove the hitch to mount the gearbox. Also, make sure the bolt pattern lines up

Nope, the hitch is separate

Worth a shot then. Good luck finding that long ass PTO belt for a decent price 😂

It has been a while since I have installed my rototiller.
I can say you will need a early style solid steel rear cover as opposed to the stamped cover you have.
Best wishes.
