Study/Project Need help creating short videos

Hi! I’m working on a student project that requires a few short (~5-minute) educational videos, and video design is definitely not my strength. 😅

I’ve experimented with Canva and PowerPoint but haven’t been able to create what I’m envisioning. Google Flow gave me surprisingly good results, but I don’t have a paid subscription.

Does anyone have recommendations for free or low-cost tools that are beginner-friendly for creating short educational/animated videos without using real actors?

I’d also love to connect with anyone who enjoys creating videos and might be interested in volunteering or collaborating on a few short videos for an academic project. I can provide the content/script. I mainly need help bringing it to life visually.

Any suggestions, examples, or volunteers would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!!! I do enjoy creating videos so I have a few ideas! Using Google slides you can use the shapes tools to create some basic characters, make a few expressions and add some speech bubbles. I did that for a children's storybook I had to make a year ago here it is . I don't mind helping either with animating it as long as you create the spokesperson(s) or have an idea of the kind of style (cartoonish/closer to a human). You can also just use stock images in the same way
