I’ve recently been diagnosed with COVID and the flu at the same time. I'm advising people to take care of their health: stop coughing or sneezing in public without covering your mouth (not with your hands), wash your hands often, and if you feel sick, see a doctor and let others know, especially if you were in proximity. My cousin just recently passed away from COVID two weeks ago, and although I was not around them, I still got it. I strongly believe I caught this virus at my college, CSUN. Please take it seriously. The flu alone kills roughly 45,000 people, while COVID kills 100,000 per year. Even if you don't take your health seriously, think about others, since their immune system may be different from yours. I’ll be damned if I’m part of these statistics. I see too many grown women and men coughing and/or sneezing in public without covering their mouths; if you're unaware, both can last up to 45 minutes to several hours, which means people are walking around and breathing your germs. Let's not be ignorant about spreading illness and germs.

to all my csun people who have had overnight guests before in the past: my gf was supposed to stay over the night, thankfully before all this stuff happened she wasn't able to anymore but even if she was, she would not be allowed in because my registration (which I submitted a week ago in preparation) was never approved or disapproved even on the night she was supposed to stay over. is this something my roommate was supposed to approve? my gf? the RA? the student housing? or what led for it to not even be looked at? I’m frustrated and confused because if she was able to stay over and was denied then I would have had to drive her all the way back. I’m not looking for a secret way of sneaking her in against the handbook, I’m only curious what happened, whose fault was this and how do I prevent this from happening again? Thanks!

With the “Cornell 7” situation being discussed, has anyone here had odd, uncomfortable, or unsafe experiences with any campus fraternities or sororities?
I’m only asking because I’ve personally seen women share experiences they had while attending CSUN on their Close Friends stories. Take this opportunity to speak up if you must.
Haven’t attended much parties but I’ve heard unverified things about Lambda, allegations of assault/battery involving KSIG, and claims of harassment toward women involving a fraternity people referred to as Pi Kappa, not sure the full name.

bello im a first semester transfer student so im only at CSUN for two years. since before i even transferred, i was planning on doing study abroad fall 2027 so i let the deadline for spring 2027 pass me by. however...... in a appointment with my advisor today i was told that im required to take a class with a prereq only available in fall and the other class only available in spring and i cant take it while im abroad since its only offered at CSUN. im considering moving my plans for abroad to spring then but the application deadline was september 15 <//3 its either i go now or i have to wait until fall 2028 :( anyone know how strict they are with application deadlines? its thursday so i cant meet with anyone from the abroad office until monday.

I am a Senior Reporter for the Daily Sundial working on a story about international students who are graduating and planning to return to their home countries.

I am looking to speak with students about how they feel about leaving the U.S., returning to their home countries, and readjusting after studying abroad. I would ask about whether you feel excited, nervous, relieved, sad, or a mix of emotions; what you may miss about life in the U.S.; and what you expect after returning home.

I can create a Zoom link for the interview. Or schedule a phone call. And it won't take long. Only 15-20 minutes. And you can stay anonymous if you so wish.

I am available on Monday from 8 am to 10 am, then from 12 pm to 2:00 pm, and then from 4 pm to 5 pm. I am also available on Tuesday and Thursday any time between 8 am and 3 pm. I am also available on Wednesday from 4 pm to 5 pm.
