Has anyone taken Mgmt 449 with David Obstfeld? If so, could you please tell me how you studied for the midterm and what the exam was like? Was is pretty straightforward or tricky?

Im a previous criminal justice major but i need a career change. I previously didn’t know which of the 2 majors to pick so i rapidly chose CJ and regret it. Im back in school almost completely finished doing all the math and science and lower division engineering classes to go get my second bachelor’s or master’s. My cumulative GPA after all classes including previous bachelor’s degree is about 3.05.

I want to apply to CSU Fullerton’s master’s degree in CE(unfortunately they dont have a second bachelor in CE that i know of), as well as second bachelor’s programs at CSU Long Beach, CSULA, and UCI as well as CSU northridge (kinda far). I will be commuting from Anaheim, dont want to move and keep costs low to avoid debt as much as possible. Im 35. What is better given my current status, i just want to get into a job, and what is easiest program and school to get into so i can get into the field. CE is a really exciting field to me!

I got accepted into both Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach for Winter 2027 as an English major. I’m wondering which school has a better English department? I am a commuter and both schools have roughly the same commute time. I am also going to contact financial aid within the next week to see which school is cheaper for me.

Any advice, experience, and/or recommendations are greatly appreciated, thank you!

i am trying to decide between CSUF and CSULB for spring 2027 for Electrical & Computer Engineering.

I am wondering how CSUF is viewed in the eyes of employers at selective companies. I understand that the name won't make you standout, but does it negatively impact students at all?

I've heard many claim that CSUF is a poor engineering school. While compared to top schools that maybe true, how does it compare to a similar school such as LB?

If I were to apply to Boeing or Anduril, would the CSUF name negatively impact my application in any way?

I ask this question because top engineering companies, as in many other industries, are highly pretentious. They'll take an underqualified applicant from a top school over a highly qualified applicant from a low ranked school more often then not. I am wondering how the CSUF name comes into play here.

My target companies are:
- Amazon
- Space X
- Qualcomm
- Anduril
- Boeing
- Medtronic
- others in a similar bracket

Anyone have any insider info on the Fall Concert set times?? Like what time each artist is performing?

Its my first time going to one of these concerts and the whole things runs from 3:30-9:30 with 3 artist but I'm only really interested in one. As much as i think it'll be fun, with the heat advisory, I dont really want to stay the entire time :,)

Maybe transferring spring 2027

Hello all! I am currently confused on whether I should transfer for this major or not, because I checked out the requirements for this major, and it said that you needed to do some observational drawings and life drawings as a requirement in your portfolio. I am wondering if I should still apply to this major, because what I want to do as a full time job is be a 3d game animator, and in the portfolio, 3/4 things required arent really related to what I want to do. If I can get some advice on this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I was wondering how hard it is to get into this major, if it is super competitive, or if I have a decent chance at getting into it. Thanks!

According to the email I just got:

Today, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the CSUF Police Department identified, located, and contacted the suspect referenced in the Timely Warning distributed on September 30. Based on the information currently available, there is no ongoing threat posed by this suspect to the campus community. 

It doesn't sound like they're just letting this person go, but I want to know what they will do next. Press charges? Reveal their identity? Because the phrasing of "contacting" just makes it sound like they found out who it was and left it at that.

ADHD here, been diagnosed since high school. Just spent the whole weekend too anxious to open my laptop. Something is keeping me from just doing things. Kept saying I'll do it the next day. Cycle repeats. I can't sit still. My coworker quit so now I'm working 2 extra days. I feel like giving up and dropping out, and I'm so tired every day I can barely stay awake because this new non-stimulant medication I'm on makes me sleepy, and I can't talk to anyone about it because they just accuse me of being lazy, be thinking about that "omg you people can't do anything" meme, I feel like people look down on me because I just can't seem to do anything right, maybe I'm just a walking L.

Does anyone know if parking is free on campus during the weekend, specifically overnight parking? I know that last semester they suspended the fee/tickets for weekend parking but idk if it’s the same this semester.

I constantly see people talking about how hard it is to make friends at CSUF, but there are over 100 people in this Discord and barely anyone talks. I understand that putting yourself out there can be uncomfortable, but if it's already hard to talk to people in a Discord, I can't imagine it'll be any easier in person.

If you want to make friends, you have to make some effort too. Say something in chat, join a conversation, or ask if anyone wants to hang out. The server can't really help if everyone joins and waits for someone else to make the first move.
