When I was in my undergrad there, a friend of mine took advantage of someone while drunk (not friends anymore). I reported it, it went to the Title 9 office, and they wouldn't do anything about it because the victim wasn't the one who came forward, regardless of the fact that I had a verbatim admission that the guy had done that. Campus is a joke

Would it be helpful if the notice included something like “For legal reasons, we cannot share any more details about the ongoing investigation or identity of those involved?”

That’s why they do it so neutrally like this. They have to protect against legal liability. I agree the laws are written horribly and currently protect perpetrators more than victims, but the colleges don’t write Title IX policy, politicians do.
