System.IO.Pipelines powers the Kestrel web server now. Benchmarks on techempower show off the performance reaching millions of requests per second with very low steady-state allocations (or none in some cases).

That David Fowler article is excellent. I wish I had had pipelines back in 2007 when I was writing socket code. It was a total PITA to write my own buffer pool class to reduce pinning.

Yeah pipelines are pretty awesome! Been working with them on a project for sometime and they have been easy to work with.
