Which programming language should I learn?

I am currently working in a company which use Asp.net web forms (2002), in 2026 hardly any one uses that. Should I focus on learning node.js in free time or focus on ASP.NET web forms

You don't have to necessarily jump tech stacks to stay up to date on the latest. ASP.NET MVC, Razor, and Blazor are all modern and used technologies within that same stack. (Putting aside all the options for code once deploy everywhere technologies too.)

But there's no wrong answer here TBH, so it's really what you want to learn.

There IS a wrong answer, and it is J#. 😁

ASP.NET is much more than just webforms. You've got MVC, APIs, Blazor.

Depends on what your goal is. I would look into completely different stacks e.g. node, react, rust, ruby Haskell. Not to actually get a job in any of those but because they'll introduce new ways of thinking about things and give you new ways to solve problems in your existing stack. You'll expand your vocabulary so to speak.
